Sophie Jones
Sophie brings over 15 years of dedicated experience to the social care sector, combining frontline child protection expertise with senior strategic leadership. A Social Worker registered with Social Work England since 2009, Sophie has held pivotal leadership roles, including eight years as Head of Service for Children with Disabilities (CWD) across two London boroughs. In this capacity, she was responsible for integrating complex services and coordinating support responses at both a strategic local level and on a personalized, child-by-child basis.
A specialist in safeguarding and legislative compliance, Sophie has extensive experience designing and delivering high-impact training for professionals. Her expertise spans basic child protection and exploitation to more niche areas such as Fabricated and Induced Illness (FII) a field in which she has conducted extensive research and casework. Sophie is also highly skilled in Quality Assurance, particularly regarding EHCPs and social care processes, helping teams align their practice with statutory requirements.
Currently, Sophie is heavily involved in complex investigative work, reviewing Stage 2 Children Act complaints and corporate complaints for various local authorities across the UK. She also undertakes school-based investigations, supporting organizations to resolve disputes and strengthen their internal cultures. Sophie is recognized for her ability to support individual and organizational development, helping teams identify and achieve the professional goals necessary to deliver high-quality, sustainable services for children and families.
